Telephone enquiries are welcome, however you will likely need to leave a message as I don’t keep traditional office hours and work by myself. If you are ordering a cupcake bouquet the quickest option is to fill in the order request form.
As much as possible! It is never too early to get booked in and I am happy to arrange a low deposit to reserve a date on advance orders (8 weeks or more notice). Weekend slots are often fully booked a month in advance but as a rough guide I would advise the following timescales as a minimum:

Yes, all orders need to be secured with a booking fee equal to 50% of your order value. Slots are not confirmed until the booking fee is received. The remaining balance is due no less than 14 days before collection/delivery. If you are ordering with less than 14 days notice, the full cost of your order will be due on booking. For full details about payments, booking fees and what happens if you need to reschedule or cancel your order please see my T’s and C’s.
Bank transfer is preferred but Paypal and cash can also be accepted. Once your order details have been arranged you will be sent an invoice containing full payment information.
Orders are collected from Hampton Hargate (full address will be on your invoice) during an agreed timeslot. If you miss your agreed time slot, you may need to wait until the next available slot. Please contact me as soon as possible if there is a problem with your collection time so that alternative arrangements can be made. Standard collection slots are as follows:

Where possible, all wedding and tiered cakes are delivered and set up. Delivery is free within Peterborough on all orders of £50 or more as well as cupcake bouquets. Deliveries on smaller orders are available at a small charge. Delivery outside of Peterborough is available, charged according to distance.
The safest place to transport a cake is completely flat in an empty car boot. Smaller cakes can sometimes be placed in the front footwell. Cakes should not be transported on car seats or held on laps.
Cakes are best stored within their delivery boxes in a cool dry place. It is not necessary to store a cake in the fridge, unless specifically instructed on collection/delivery.
Yes, I am happy to arrange a consultation to talk through your wedding cake options. This can either be held at your home or in a public place (eg. a cafe) at a mutually agreeable time.
I can put together a tasting box for you to collect from Hampton Hargate. There will be a small charge for this which will be deducted from your invoice if you go onto order your wedding cake from me. If you have already paid your booking fee this will be free of charge.
These terms form the basis of the contract between our customer and Sunflower Patisserie. These Terms, your Order and your Order Invoice are considered by us to set out the whole agreement between you and us for the sale of cakes. It is your responsibility to check all details in the Order Invoice are complete and accurate as this is the document we work to when completing your order.
**Payment of the booking fee is considered to be acceptance of these terms and conditions.
Any samples, drawings, or descriptions we issue and any descriptions or illustrations contained on our website are issued solely to provide you with an approximate idea of the cakes they describe and remain the property of Sunflower Patisserie. Quotations are valid for a period of 30 calendar days from the day of issue. Cake sizes quoted are in inches and are based on the diameter of the cake. Cakes are 4 to 5 inches deep as standard. If you would like a deeper cake this needs to be requested at the time of booking.
No contract is made with you until we have received your booking fee. Once your booking fee has been received you are in a legally binding contract with Sunflower Patisserie.
We warrant that on delivery or collection the Cakes shall conform to their description as set out in the Order Invoice, be of satisfactory quality and comply with all food safety, statutory and regulatory requirements in the UK. We will not be held responsible for customer disappointment of the design or the interpretation of the cake as long as it is made in line with the customer’s pre agreed requirements set out in the Order Invoice and will face no consequent liability. It is the customers responsibility to ensure all details within the Order Invoice are correct and meet their exact requirements.
The warranty does not apply to any defect in the Cakes arising from willful damage, accident, negligence by you or any third party, if you use the cake in a way we do not recommend, your failure to follow our instructions or any alterations you carry out.
Our cakes are made in an environment where nuts, egg, milk, gluten and other allergens are present. We cannot guarantee that any cake is entirely nut free although we make every effort to ensure that allergies are accommodated. We cannot guarantee an exact replica of any cake but we will do our best to make it so. Where colour swatches are provided we will do our best to match as close as we deem possible. Exact colour matches are not guaranteed.
Fresh flowers are not included in the price of any wedding cake design. If a wedding cake is to be dressed with fresh flowers these are to be provided by your florist. NB. Please note some flowers are not suitable for use as a cake decoration. Ask your florist for details regarding toxicity. We cannot be liable for any contamination to our food product that may arise from their misuse. We recommend that your florist contacts us directly to confirm detail about the size of cake being dressed to avoid any miscommunication.
From time to time certain materials for our cakes may become obsolete. This is totally out of our control; however we will do our best to select replacement products to reflect the original design as closely as possible. We reserve the right to replace items with component parts of equal or better quality without consultation. If your cake contains figures made from sugar paste, whilst edible, we do not advise that they be eaten, due to the possible presence of dowels for reinforcement. All of our figures are handmade (unless agreed otherwise), and therefore, whilst we try to capture the characteristics of a particular person if requested (such as with eye colour, hair colour, hair length, glasses etc), we cannot guarantee a true likeness. It is your responsibility to provide images for our reference. If images are not provided standard figures shall be used.
Stacked cakes contain dowels in each tier to provide support and these should be removed before consumption. The cake is a fresh product containing no additives or preservatives and it is our right to assume consumption on the day requested. Cakes should be stored in a dry place, at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and sources of heat in the box provided. They should NOT be refrigerated unless Sunflower Patisserie recommends it (eg. extreme weather conditions).
Cakes can be collected from Sunflower Patisserie free of charge. Sunflower Patisserie strongly recommends that tiered cakes are delivered directly to the customers venue and any associated delivery charge is factored into your cake quote.
Cakes should be transported flat in the boot of your car and extreme care should be taken when driving. We accept no responsibility for any damage sustained to the cake once it has left the premises.
If delivery has been arranged we will deliver the cake on the day set out at the approximate agreed time in the Order Invoice to the address provided. If the customer is not available at the agreed location and time, it will become the customers responsibility to arrange collection or pay an additional charge for a reattempted delivery.
When delivering to a wedding venue, we will contact the venue in advance to arrange a mutually convenient time for delivery. If we set up the wedding cake we shall take a photograph of the cake before leaving and, where possible, obtain a signature from the venue confirming the cake has been received in good condition. Should the venue need to set up the cake themselves we shall explain how the cake is to be displayed and where possible obtain a signature to verify we have done so. Once the cake has been delivered we are unable to accept and liability for any damage sustained to the cake thereafter nor any failure to follow the instructions provided.
If hiring a cake stand through Sunflower Patisserie, a deposit equal to the value of the stand will be required when booking. The stand must be returned to us in a good, clean condition within 5 days of the wedding. Upon the return of the stand the deposit will be refunded.
The price of your cake will be as set out in your Order Invoice. No Vat is payable on the cakes. A 50% booking fee is required on all orders. The remaining balance is due no later than 14 days before your collection/delivery date. Full payment is required on booking for orders placed with less than 14 days notice. It is possible to arrange payment plans for orders placed more than 2 months in advance. Please refer to the payment schedule listed on your Order Invoice for full details. The full balance is required no later than 14 days before your collection/delivery date. 50% of your total order value is considered to be the booking fee for your order and is non-refundable should you cancel your order. If you should cancel your order prior to 14 days before your collection/delivery date, anything paid over the 50% booking fee can be refunded or transferred to another order. If cancelling less than 14 days before your collection/delivery date all monies paid will be forfeited.
Please note all booking fees are non refundable and non transferable.
The balance must be paid in cleared monies no later than the date set out in the Order Invoice by bank transfer to the account specified, Paypal or cash.
If payment is not received by the date specified this shall be constituted as breach of contract by the client. We reserve the right to hold the order until payment is made in full. When payment is late we accept no responsibility should we be unable to purchase the required stock or equipment to make the cake as laid out in the Order Invoice. In these circumstances the cake will be made as close to the Order Invoice as possible with no redress or liability on Sunflower Patisserie.
In the event of a cancellation by yourselves, charges are as follows;
In the event of a postponement, the payment due remains the same as a cancellation. Subject to availability we will carry the monies paid forward to the new date. Please be aware that we will only do this on one occasion. Any further postponements will be classed as cancellation.
You may, prior to 14 days before collection/deliver request to modify the specification of your order. In the case of alterations a new Order Invoice will be issued detailing the changes and the new cost. Alterations are not confirmed until a new Order Invoice has been issued and any additional charges have been paid.
Should you make any changes less than 28 days prior to your collection/delivery date there will not be a reduction in the price you pay, even if your new design is cheaper than the original booking. Changes can be requested less than 14 days before your collection/delivery date, however these cannot be guaranteed and may incur extra charges as materials may have already been purchased for your original design.
In the very unlikely event of severe medical, natural, or other emergencies, it may not be possible to complete the order. In this scenario Sunflower Patisserie will make every effort to secure a substitute cake decorator. If such a situation should occur and a suitable replacement is not found, responsibility and liability is limited to the return of all payments received for the order.
Please be aware that Environmental health rules prevent bakers from working on customer orders within 48 hours of having a sickness bug. While this situation is unfortunate, it is unavoidable and in the customers best interest that Sunflower Patisserie follows the EHO rules.In the unlikely event that we need to cancel your order any monies paid will be refunded. Sunflower Patisserie reserves the right to cancel, vary or suspend the operation of this contract if events occur which are in the nature of force majeure including (without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing): fire, floods, storm, plant breakdown, strike, lock outs, riot, hostilities, non-availability of materials or supplies or any other event outside the control of Sunflower Patisserie, and Sunflower Patisserie shall not be liable for any breach of contract resulting from such an event. Sunflower Patisserie shall not under any circumstances be liable for the customer respect of indirect consequential loss or damage or loss of profits, provided always that these conditions do not exclude or restrict Sunflower Patisserie’s statutory liability for death or personal injury arising from any negligence on Sunflower Patisserie’s part or liability imposed by statutory implied terms in Consumer Contracts.
Complaints are very rare and due to the amount of work put into each individual cake we take them very seriously.
Both Parties agree to not post any negative information about the other arising out of this Contract or Event on any online forum or website without providing advance written notice of the intended content thereof, and providing the other party with a prior opportunity to resolve any issues between the parties amicably. Complaints regarding the decoration of a celebration cake can be easily repaired so errors of this nature must be pointed out upon delivery/collection so as to give us the opportunity to correct them. Once the customer/customer representative has signed the Cake Disclaimer on collection/delivery they confirm that decoration is as requested and no further claims can be made. Wedding cake clients will be sent a detailed Order Invoice (and sometime’s a sketch if necessary) of their wedding cake design prior to the wedding. It is the clients responsibility to check that this meets with their requirements and raise any issues with us if there are any discrepancies. Where the complaint is in regards to the quality of the cake, then the cake, or remainder of the cake/tier, must be returned to us as soon as possible after cutting and within 48 hours of collection/delivery to ensure that we are able to fairly assess the nature of the complaint.
Please note we can only deal with the client who placed the original order.
All designs and intellectual property rights remain the property of Sunflower Patisserie.
We reserve the right to use images of your cake for any form of advertising including web based promotions, brochures, galleries and competitions. It is advisable that you make a copy of all documentation received from Sunflower Patisserie for your own benefit.
This Agreement together with the Order Invoice provided constitute the entire agreement and understanding between the parties relating to the order. Except as may be expressly stated in this Agreement, it supersedes and cancels all prior agreements, statements, representations, understandings, negotiations and discussions, whether oral or written, between the parties. Each of the parties acknowledges and agrees that in entering into this Agreement it does not rely on any statement, representation, warranty or understanding made prior to this Agreement save to the extent that such statement, representation, warranty or understanding is incorporated into this Agreement. Each of the parties acknowledges and agrees that in entering into this Agreement it has not relied on (or has been induced to enter into this Agreement by) any statement, representation, warranty or understanding made prior to this Agreement. Nothing in this paragraph excludes any liability for fraudulent misrepresentation.
In the event that any one or more such provisions of this Agreement should be deemed to be invalid or unenforceable, such invalidity or unenforceability shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining valid and enforceable provisions thereof which shall be construed as if such invalid or unenforceable provisions had not been inserted.
The parties agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. Any headings utilised in this Agreement have been inserted for the convenience of reference only and should in no way restrict or otherwise affect the construction of the terms and conditions hereof.
Sunflower Patisserie only holds information that is necessary to complete your cake order. All customer information will be kept on file until the order is complete. Once an order is complete all personal information will be deleted.
Sunflower Patisserie does not have a mailing list and will not use customer information for anything other than completing the customer's order.
Under no circumstances, will Sunflower Patisserie give out any customer information to third parties other than via Google Analytics cookies on the website (see section below). Each customer has the right, at any time to ask about their data and how it is being used. All customer information held by Sunflower Patisserie is stored on a password protected device, until the date of completion of order, and then deleted. All other paperwork, which does NOT hold personal information is held for the required 7 years following HMRC guidelines and is then shredded and disposed of.

Celebration cake designs are individually tailored to each customer's specifications. This means that there is no one set price, as the work needed to create each cake can be varied. This price guide will allow you to see the base price for any cakes you may be thinking about ordering.
The price incudes a buttercream/ganache filled and coated sponge cake, covered in a single colour of sugarpaste icing and presented on an iced and ribboned board.
The cost of any decorations will then be added to this base price. If you are ordering a tiered cake, additional costs will also be factored into your quote as these are often very heavy and require addditional time and materials to support, transport and set up.

As always I would advise as much notice as possible when ordering a cake in order to avoid disappointment, however many of these cakes can be produced within a shorter time frame than a themed fondant/sugarpaste cake making them perfect for a last minute party or gift.
All cakes come on a presentation board, fully boxed and the price quoted includes a custom message on the cake board. Custom age and message toppers can be ordered at an extra cost along with handcrafted sugar flowers and models. Please be aware that more notice will be required for these, usually at least a week.
